Hi, I’m Bennett—a lifelong gamer and game developer who believes games are the confluence of creativity, technology, and a little bit of (math) magic. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked on everything from AAA titles to indie experiments, always trying to build something I’d want to play (and that others will enjoy).
Ever since I was a kid, games have been my dream. I started during the dotcom boom, making Geocities webpages with flaming text (epic!). Back when dial-up was the norm, I’d siphon internet wherever I could just to play something new. I really got into programming in high school when I messed with Quake shaders and realized, “Hey! I put weird code stuff in here, and even cooler weird stuff comes out!”
Usually, my head’s in code or buried in a book, but when it’s not, you can find me playing speedball (paintball!), practicing guitar (ex-Columbia student money at work), or spending time with my family. I also love teaching and mentoring; education is a big motivator for me. My time at Wowzers making educational games for kids, and my time as a mentor to others at Zynga, have been some of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
